As if we all didn’t know by now that I do things my *own* way…
Mommy used to baby-sit. A lot. And, over the course of her child care career, she taught at least a half a dozen kids how to scoot down the stairs on their tushies. A used to go down the long wooden staircase in his house long after he was able to walk down and use the railing with ease. A critical part of the tushie-stair-maneuver is to say “Bumpity Bump!” as your tushie lands on each step.
I have never been interested in going down the stairs on my tushie. That railing is there for a reason, and I am going to use it even if it IS about a foot and a half above my head. And I don’t want to hold anyone’s hand either, thankyouverymuch. Practice makes perfect and I have been adept and independently climbing and descending stairs for some time now.
So, of course, *yesterday* I decided I wanted to try that tushie method Mommy’s been going on about.
But I don’t just follow the crowd, I do it my own special way – a way designed to give Mommy heart palpitations. Instead of going down each stair, on at a time and bumping gently towards the bottom (Bumpity Bump! Bumpity Bump!), I leaned back, pointed my toes, and pushed off as if attacking the world’s most poorly designed slide. Instead of one stair at a time, I cleared 4 or 5 at a shot (Bumpity Bumpity Bumpity Bump!).
Maybe my Olympic sport will be luge…
One last thing: Top Baby Blogs reset yesterday, and I would SO love to stay in the top 100. If you love me, or enjoy reading about my silly adventures, I’d so appreciate it if you’d vote – all you have to do is click HERE, and then click on the owl on the left. There’s no registration and you don’t need to sign up or anything. You do get one vote every 24 hours, so if you’re so inclined, the button is *always* on the top right of my sidebar, and there is a link down at the bottom of my post for those of you who subscribe. Thank you so much!
