#93 – 1000 Awesome Things

Street Fair/Amusement Park/Festival Food

Funnel cakes, sausage and peppers, kettle korn, shake-up lemonade? YUM.

I went to my very first street fair this weekend and had *such* a great time! Everyone loved my hat and there were so many things to see and do! Plus, and this was the highlight for me, there was a pickle man! That’s right, there was an entire booth devoted to pickles!

You may not have noticed, but I have a clear favorite food. Some babies might enjoy purees or bananas or something like that – but I prefer the bold flavor of garlic! We bypassed the Thai vendors and the hotdog cart to purchase a pickle on a stick. I gave Mommy a few bites, but mostly that pickle was MINE. Yum!

Daddy’s favorite festival food is Aw Shucks Roasted Corn. Freshly roasted corn brushed with butter and a special spice mixture? What could be better? Also, their logo is a donkey.

Finally, Mommy has two favorite picks:

  1. Candy Apples – Actually Mommy and Daddy had candy apples as their wedding favors! A cheerful, bright red candy apple (not to be confused with a caramel apple, which she does not care for) is Mommy’s favorite treat at Rye Playland! She Her friends made them at home once, but they just weren’t the same.
  2. Cotton Candy – and good news! Rachael Ray says cotton candy is good for you! Okay, maybe not exactly, but she *does* say that it’s one of the better choices, since it only has 150 calories. (She also recommends candy apples as an option; they have 4g of fiber!)

Daddy is looking forward to taking me to amusement parks – Mommy won’t go on roller coasters with him and he’s betting I will. I can’t wait to go to Knoebel’s – winner of the “Best Park Food” award 11 years in a row. This year, though, Musikfest might be more my speed.
