Kicking Diaper Rash

Cole is, thankfully, out of diapers and has put his days of diaper rash behind him.  Lulu, on the other hand, has started sleeping longer stretches (which leaves her damp longer), and is constantly trying new foods (which can irritate her tushie), so when Boudreaux’s Butt Paste offered to send us a sample to try out, we jumped at the opportunity.

IMG_4639Lulu is such a calm and easygoing baby 95% of the time – seriously, her neutral facial expression is smiling! One of very few things that gets her upset, though, is when she has a rash – it is heartbreaking to hear her scream and fight a diaper change.

Luckily, she has had very few bad rashes in her year of life!  When she *does* have a rash, we try to give her some naked butt time to make sure her tushie is nice and dry. She has, however had some redness lately, and it’s been great to use the Boudreaux’s Butt Paste (is that not the best name ever?) to prevent anything more major.  The paste is a nice consistency – not greasy at all, but not too thick and sticky to smooth on easily either.  It has a mild scent to it, a little bit sweet but not cloying or overpowering.

Also? I must be the dumbest Mommy EVER, because it never occurred to me to use the diaper rash cream as a preventive measure before – I’d wait until there was a rash and then slap on some cream to treat it, but according to this video, you can use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste with every diaper change and stop the rash from even starting in the first place – that seems like a MUCH better plan!  (For the record, the tube does mention to use it for prevention, too, but I have a 3 year old running around while Lulu does alligator death spirals off the changing table so I never read it.)

Epic Boudreaux’s Butt Paste vs. Rashadon battle!

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste comes in a bunch of different sizes. I find the one-time use packets to be really convenient for the diaper bag; that way there’s no chance of a tube leaking everywhere. And I think the Rash Protector Spray is a brilliant idea!

  1. I love butt paste! Well for Parker, not me 😉

  2. That stuff is pretty great. I started using it because of one of those freebie samples I got in the mail. The diaper cream we usually used seemed to be making the rash worst, but the butt paste did the trick!

And yeah, the name is really great!
