anything that makes my stuffy nose feel better
I have a cold. A dribbly nose, mild fever, sleep-interrupting, coughing, cranky-izing cold. And, even better? I shared it with Mommy.
Mommy and I did both take an EPIC nap (4.5 hours!) yesterday afternoon, and I slept until 5 instead of 4 this morning, so we’re feeling a little bit better, but there’s one thing that still bothering me.
Mommy keeps trying to steal my boogers. My nose is dripping, dripping, dripping, and, while it doesn’t particularly annoy me, she thinks it’s pretty disgusting. She keeps attacking my poor sore nose with baby wipes and tissues and napkins and I HATE that!
There didn’t appear to be any solution; I wanted my slime to stay where it was and Mommy wanted to wipe it up all the time – we were sort of at an impasse… And, in the meantime, my oozy face combined with the cold weather gave me some seriously chapped cheeks and a painfully red nose and filtrum. (That’s right. FILTRUM. That’s the part of your face between your nose and your mouth.) Ouch!
Luckily, Mommy was sorting through my drawer of lotions and potions looking for some new bath wash, and she found a stick of Johnson’s Soothing Naturals Soothe & Protect Balm. I have no pic of myself today because I’m all oozy and gross, but here’s a pic of what the balm looks like so you can go get it –>
We have no idea where we even got this stuff – probably in a gift basket before I was even born – but it is AWESOME. It kind of looks like a miniature stick of deodorant, but it’s for your face! Similar to chapstick, you just swipe it on the sore and dry and red spots and it magically makes them feel better! It smells really nice, too – I may or may not have tried to take a bite of it when Mommy was putting it on. More than once. Seriously, this is amazing. I even let Mommy wipe my nose now!
Great tip, thanks Cole! Mommy generally smears vaseline on my li'l face because I have perpetually dry spots on my cheeks from when I drool at night. I hate when she attacks my nose too, I'm kind of a ninja when it comes to twisting and turning and batting her away but then she brings in Daddy, which is just mean. Feel better, friend! And thanks for the card!
Poor Cole! Poor Mommy! I hope you both feel better really really soon!!!
And thanks for the tip!! Definitely keeping that in mind as it's gonna be a looooooooooooong winter!!
