Disruption

I know, I know – the state-of-the-sleep posts are boring… AND they were supposed to be over, given my pronouncement of sleeping through the night about 3 weeks ago.

But.

Once again, sleep is an issue. Due to Tuesday’s vaccines or my new winter cold or both, I’ve been back to my old ways. Waking up every half hour? Check. Rise and shine at 4AM? Check. No nap days? Check.

Mommy’s starting to go loopy. She is not one of those people who can go without sleep and still function – in college she was known to sleep away entire weekends. In the past week, her sleep deprivation has become a problem – and it’s costing us money.

A few weeks ago she bought a camera. Now, said camera is on sale for $50 cheaper – but despite having EVERY other receipt for everything she bought in 2010, that one’s gone. No price adjustment for Mommy.

We ordered custom gifts for a few people. No details because half of my readership is my immediate family, but she made an error there too and had to reorder.

We were offered a VERY generous private sale on an item that we LOVE, and fully intended to take advantage of it, but missed the deadline.

So tired.

Those people who talk about sleeping like a baby? Obviously never had children. It doesn’t help that, due to super-hectic scheduling and holiday season crunch, Mommy and Daddy have not been home at the same time during waking hours in over a week.

I *think* we may catch a break on Saturday… the 18th – we just have to make it through the next 2 weeks!

It’s telling that I was looking for a sleeping picture to attach to this post (I *know* half of you are just here for the cute!), but couldn’t find a more recent one than this one from *October.*

Assuming Mommy and I both make it to Friday, we’re planning a field trip; we’re headed to Alice’s Tea Cup for lunch, and then the Central Park Zoo for Winterfest – AND Michele and Max are coming, too! Anyone care to join us?

  1. Oh man Mommy I am right there with you! If napping had been a major in college, I would have been on the Dean's list. I guess the little ones didn't get the memo that sleep=good….
