You *might* think that this week’s example of awesomeness was only really seen in the 80’s, but you’d totally be wrong. Sure, cringeworthy t.v. may have hit it’s height in that decade (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Small Wonder, Different Strokes, etc.), but there are some FABULOUS examples still today!
The *best ever* episode of terrible television first aired on November 3, 1990… Mommy is *shocked* that November 3 is not National Caffeine Pill Danger Awareness Day in honor of this show – do you remember what it is yet?
If, for some inexplicable reason you missed it (or weren’t born yet), here’s a clip showcasing Jessie Spano’s breakdown on Saved By the Bell:
Ummmm. Wow. In case you want to see the rest of the episode, *including* the girls’ amazing music video as “Hot Sundae,” TBS will be airing it on July 28th at 7:30am – go ahead, set your Tivo, we’ll wait. You can come back and thank me on July 29th.
Fast forward to more modern t.v. The BEST worst television genre *has* to be reality shows. The first time Mommy saw America’s Next Top Model, she thought it was an SNL skit. Tyra Banks takes herself SO seriously.
But the best, the best, the BEST of the worst is unquestionably a special we saw on TLC a few weeks back.
The premise was that various groomers were decorating their dogs according to specific themes. But that’s not even the best part.
Oh no, the BEST (worst) part was after the grooming, when it was time for the competition; all the groomers dressed up and danced around with their poodles in brief vignettes to try to impress the judges.
