Highchair Hunt

We are in Pittsburgh right now, having many adventures with Mommy’s college friends, but I will wait to regale you of those until tomorrow when I can upload pictures.

For today, let’s talk about how, since I’m eating solid foods now, it is past time for me to have a high chair. It is not Passover year round and, therefore, inappropriate for me to be reclined all the time. Plus, Mommy’s a little worried that I will choke AND I need a tray to keep my food on, instead of my shirt.

Before the reality of baby-accessory-home-invasion, Mommy was looking at this, , the Boon Flair Pedestal High Chair with Pneumatic Lift. Okay, yes, it is supercool. And according to Baby Bargains (the 8th edition of which Mommy clung to like a lifeline while she spent 3 hours wandering through the maze of endless baby products at Babies R Us trying to register), it’s safe, easy to clean, and stylish. But, really Mommy? Pneumatic lift? $200 price tag?

Seriously?

Ummm, no. Mommy wisely decided that I do not need a highchair that resembles a space shuttle and takes up 86.3% of our kitchen space. Daddy would NOT be pleased, especially given the ongoing battle between his pinky toe and my jumperoo in the living room.

After much research, and a strict aversion to anything featuring cartoon characters, Mommy settled on this much more reasonable option: , the Inglesina Club Highchair. It fits into our kitchen aesthetically, folds up for storage, cleans easily, and (most importantly, of course) gets high safety ratings. Sold! It should beat me home and I’ll get to use it tomorrow.

While she was exploring our options, though, Mommy read about this: . the Belkiz Feedaway. It’s lightweight, eco-friendly, portable, and recyclable… because it’s made of cardboard! At about $40, even if it didn’t last forever, you could just get a new one. It would be great to keep at Grammy’s house for when we go over there for dinner – too bad it’s only available in Australia so far.

Hmmmm…. If only I knew someone who lived in Australia…
