#74 – 1000 Awesome Things

Picking Your Own Apples

We had a fabulous, fun-filled fall weekend! On Saturday, we crossed one of our fall field trips off the list and headed to Warwick Valley Winery for some apple picking. We started out with lunch at their cafe: a fresh fruit and cheese platter, and an heirloom tomato salad. Mommy and Daddy shared some Raspberry Hard Cider, but all I got was some regular apple cider.

Daddy and Henry walked up to the orchard while Mommy and I took a tractor ride! I had SO much fun finding apples to bring home with us.

That would have been a really good picture if Mommy had just been a teensy bit quicker.

Here’s another almost-great shot that I ruined by moving:
The only small problem? Apple picking is typically a FALL activity – and it was about 97 degrees on Saturday. Mommy was wondering which one of us (Henry or me) was going to pass out from heat stroke while Daddy played Goldilocks and the 753 apples. (“This one is too hard, this one is too sweet, this one is not sweet *enough*”) Henry kept trying to lie down in the meager shade under the apple trees, but I kept my good mood – I tried to help Daddy find the good ones – the ones that were “just right.”

Anyway, the bushel of apples in my front hall waiting to be eaten? Awesome.

Wanna join us on a Fall Field Trip? My next awesome adventure is a trip to the Bronx Zoo – and you’re invited! Harmony and C are coming AND Max and his mommy, Michele, too, so it’s sure to be a lot of fun!
