Can we talk about poop?
You can’t really stop me, so I’m gonna, but it seemed the polite thing to do to ask…
Poo is a big topic of conversation when it comes to babies, but that seems to taper off into toddlerhood (until it comes to potty training, that is…). Anyway, so here are a few things we’ve learned recently:
- When you eat *only* edamame and broccoli for a few days, your diaper filler is a shade of green not unlike a Crayola Fern Crayon.
- A diet high in fiber (mostly apples and the aforementioned edamame) results in a LOT of poo. Seriously. A LOT.
I am more and more opinionated every day – thus the restricted diet; that’s not Mommy’s idea! I tend to like strong flavors: broccoli, pickles, cranberry sauce – and I eat peanut butter crackers like they’re going out of style, but chicken? Meh. Sometimes I’ll eat it, mostly not so much. Lettuce? Not even a little bit. I love apples and pears, but there’s that fiber again – I’m never going to gain weight and grow big and strong if I’m… ahem… continually filling my pants.
So, Mommy and I are wondering – what’s the norm here? I’m totally energetic and my cheerful self so we’re not worried about my health or nourishment or anything, but really? Does everyone go through this I-poo-four-times-a-day-stage? Because we’re going through a LOT of diapers lately..
Evan is pooping a LOT recently. It's annoying and smelly. And he doesn't even eat that much fiber – just apples mostly, and whole wheat pasta. I think it goes in cycles, so I'm really looking forward to the next less-poop filled cycle.
M usually poops between 2 and 5 times a day. The days we hit 5 I sorta want to kill myself.
