I am a snuggly sleeper. I nap better on Mommy’s chest than anywhere else, and I have been sleeping curled up into a ball since I was able to roll into one. I knew, therefore, the instant I laid eyes on the Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse that we’d be BFFs… Who doesn’t want a cuddly sea creature to sleep with? Also, when you think of warm and cozy, what animal do you think of first, if not the seahorse?
Kidding aside, this particular seahorse is definitely cozy and snuggly and friendly. Aunt Deb and Uncle Eric and my cousins Meredith and Amy gave him to me for Christmas and we have been bedtime buddies ever since. He is so soothing that once I even took a little nap on the floor because he was down there with me! True Story.
My seahorse, who needs a name – any suggestions?, has a nice glowy tummy that provides the perfect amount of light; Mommy can get out of my bedroom without tripping over anything or stubbing her toe on the dresser, but it’s not so bright that it keeps me up. If I’m not very sleepy, I try to nom on the lit up belly, but usually I just pat it lovingly. He also plays nice quiet music with bubbly ocean noises. The music plays for about 10 minutes, which is just enough time for me to drift off – but if I want to listen some more, I have figured out how to turn it back on all by myself. (This may be proof that I am a supergenius.)
The Fisher-Price people have this to say: “Sometimes baby needs a little help falling asleep. Anyway, I highly recommend a seahorse buddy to any baby who might need a friend to help him or her fall asleep!
