My Very First Ride on the Subway

My daddy can be really silly sometimes, but today it was Mommy who was crazy! She convinced Daddy to go to Improv Everywhere’s 9th Annual No Pants! Subway Ride. Apparently, she has been trying to convince someone to participate with her for years, but this year is the first time she got to go.

First, we met up with a group of about 800 people in Central Park. A lady interviewed Mommy for the Village Voice – we think I was the youngest agent-in-training there. Then we split into smaller teams and decided who would de-pants at each stop on the subway ride from 110th Street to 42nd Street. The rules were to take off your pants at your designated time, get off the subway at the next stop, and get on the very next train. Then EVERYONE transferred trains at 42nd Street and headed to Union Square, where we met up with Pants Free riders from all over the city! Everyone kept asking Mommy if I was taking my pants off, but she thought it was better to keep me warm and bundled up – there was only a high of 28 degrees today!

Here are some pictures of the crowd at Union Square – it turns out there were over 3000 partici-nopants this year!

Here’s one of Mommy and me:
And, finally, the whole family:
After all that pants-less subway riding and some partying in Union Square, we were hungry so we had dinner at Spice right around the corner before heading home. I can’t wait to go back when I’m eating solid foods – everything looked delicious!
All in all, it was a very exciting day – Mommy’s already trying to convince more people to join us next year!
