Gobble Gobble

Gobble, gobble is ALL we did ALL weekend. And Mommy? Forgot to take pictures. FAIL.

Well, mostly. We do have a *few* photos of Thanksgiving Weekend 2010.

Thursday

Daddy did, in fact, take charge of mashing up the rutabaga. Mommy planned on taking pictures throughout the process, but she only got this one of him peeling it while we were watching the parade. (Incidentally, the flesh was not the bright orange she was expecting, so she called Grammy and told her that whatever we had was not a rutabaga; Grammy said that it WAS and it would get brighter as it boiled. She was right, but we don’t have any pics of the final product, so you’ll have to take my word for it.)

After watching the parade, we headed over to Grammy & Coach’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a much smaller crowd than usual: Grammy, Coach, Mommy, Daddy, me, Aunt Angela, Aunt Debbie, Meredith, and Amy – and Henry. Uncle Matt lives in Australia, so he hasn’t been home for the holiday in a while, and Uncle Eric was away. Usually there are a few friends and neighbors, too, but not this year – we didn’t even have the leaf in the table! Despite our small group, Grammy still made a 19 pound turkey, and we had soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rutabaga, green beans, creamed white onions, cranberry sauce, gravy, and two kinds of stuffing. Then we all unbuttoned our pants and went back for dessert. Thanksgiving is Grammy Boo’s *favorite* holiday and she doesn’t really know how to scale back…

Friday

Since we spent Thanksgiving at Grammy & Coach’s, we hosted brunch on Friday for Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle David and Aunt Angela, and Aunt Rebecca. We had yummy bagels and Daddy made blintzes – Aunt Angela and Aunt Rebecca picked up some pastries on their way over, too. Of course, Daddy got some mixed berries especially for me. I had a GREAT time playing with Grandma and Aunt Rebecca, putting my shapes in and out of the sorting bucket – it was hysterical!

Second day in a row of big-time eating AND no pics.

Saturday

We spent a lazy day on Saturday cleaning up and doing chores (no more Laundry Mountain!) before Vinnie came over. I spent some time playing a new game with my friend who lives in the stove. Mommy is not sure what we were playing, but she is positive this will not be a favorite of our downstairs neighbors:

Vinnie, Mommy, Daddy, and I met up with Jodi for dinner and then we came back and had a little movie night.

Sunday

Daddy has to get work done on Sundays, so after breakfast, Mommy and I went to visit Julie for a little while and then went to see Aunt Debbie and Amy. I took a nice nap snuggled on a quilt at their house and then we all went to the playground, where Mommy FINALLY remembered to take some pictures!

I, of course, headed straight for the tallest slide, and Aunt Debbie and I jumped on the bouncy bridge.

Those are Aunt Debbie’s legs. Mommy tried to take a picture of both of us, but the yellow playground bar covered Aunt Debbie’s whole face!

Amy pushed me on the swing, I went up and down the slide a bazillion times, I crunched through the leaves at the edge of the park and then it was time to go back home because I was turning into an icicle. Aunt Debbie’s house is *right* around the corner from the playground, but the corner is a GIANT hill – I had to hike up the mountain just to get back to the house!

After we came home, I played some guitar with Daddy,
and then Mommy tried to get a picture of me and Henry together,
but we were NOT cooperative.

A final Happy Thanksgiving to my whole bloggy family – welcome to the holiday season!
