Marching for Babies

On Saturday morning, Mommy and I got up bright and early and met up with Aunt Debbie and Cousin Amy to participate in our local March of Dimes walk. We raised $175, so first and foremost, we want to say a very big THANK YOU! to everyone who sponsored us:

Daddy
Grammy Boo
Marlo
Aunt Angela
Michele & Max
Jayme
Wendie
Amanda
Jill, Scott, Dylan, & Lindsay
Julie

Anyway, it was a teeny bit chilly when we first got there, but I was not bothered at all, especially once I saw the *celebrity* in attendance!

You guys? I totally met ELMO! I chatted with him, and gave him high fives, and I don’t want to brag or anything, but pretty much we’re BFFs now.

Mommy is supersad that this pic came out so blurry.

After a little breakfast, Mommy put me up on her back and we set off.

A note here: As you can see from my pictures, Mommy is kind of fluffy. *I* don’t mind, she’s a really good snuggler, but she’s only “in shape” if you’re from the “round is a shape” camp. She’s *somewhat* fit – she can hike up and down the three flights of stairs to our house no problem, but she won’t be running any marathons anytime soon. ANYway, the 5 mile walk was not really a problem. Five miles with a 25 pound toddler on her back (well, probably 23 pounds) was still an okay plan. The afternoon trip to the arts festival in a reclaimed factory/warehouse that added about 2 hours to her babywearing day? THAT was probably ill-advised. She woke up a bit sore this morning.

Anyway, we walked our walk, and then headed off to lunch where I played peek-a-boo with Amy AND saw a train go by outside the window!
