Pass the aloe

Sand in my swimsuit,
Sand in my hair,
When I go to the beach
Sand gets everywhere!

I wonder, I wonder,
Oh, how can there be
Sand left at the beach
When there’s so much on me?

On Wednesday, I went to the beach for the first time. (I also, got my very first sunburn, but that’s not really a good part of the story.)

First, I got to ride on Mommy’s back in our mei tai to walk onto the beach. Henry came with us, too!
I wore my sunglasses for a little while, but then I got curious as to what they’d be like as a snack…

When you are at the beach or out in the sun, it is important to stay hydrated.

Henry and I had a really great day!

For those of you who may be wondering, we went to Island Beach State Park, where dogs are allowed except on the bathing beach (lifeguard) areas. This is the second dog beach that Mommy and Henry have been to (they went to one in Manasquan ONE week before I was born!), and Mommy liked this one MUCH better – she highly recommends it to any dog lovers in the Jersey Shore area.

In an entirely unrelated note, I had my 9 month check-up yesterday; my height (~27″) and weight (~18lbs) put me in the 10th percentile for both, so I’m still a little peanut, but that just means that my clothes fit me longer – and Mommy has a little while to procrastinate before rushing out to buy a convertible car seat.

  1. Mommy had her first sunburn at 7 months old despite my best efforts. I gave her lots of advice on potential sunburning; maybe that's why she didn't share with me that you had your first sunburn! I know from experience this was impossible to avoid. Hope you are feeling better. Love, Grammy

  2. Dear Cole,

Henry is so cute. I think my dog, Oscar, and Henry would get along!

    Your friend,

    Hailey
